We are excited to introduce you to Elizabeth Knell today. She runs a work/life coaching business, along with another business focused on curating experiences near the Hudson Valley area in New York. I’m so impressed to see that she walked away from a 25 year career to start a business!

We encourage you to visit her website, to learn about her upcoming Masterclass and take note that she is like so many of us - juggling entrepreneurship, life, and selfcare.

What is the name of your business? Go From There

What does your business do? Work/Life Coaching - I offer custom 1:1 coaching services to busy women, creative industry professionals, and agencies, by phone or video conference.

What challenges are you facing in your business or in starting your business?  Biggest challenge was finding the courage to leave the steady paycheck of a 25+ year career in branding and marketing to do something completely different!

{ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS TO ME IN STARTING MY OWN BUSINESS WAS THE ABILITY TO BE FLEXIBLE AND HAVE FREEDOM TO DO WHAT I WANT TO DO, WHEN I WANT TO DO IT}

Tell us about you/your day - sort of a “day in the/your life” - especially during these challenging times and how you are adjusting. My typical days are not typical, by design. One of the most important things to me in starting my own business was the ability to be flexible and have freedom to do what I want to do, when I want to do it. So while each day will include work time, it will also include movement time (an online workout, a long walk or hike, or a solo dance party), some mindfulness/me time (meditation in the form of sitting on my balcony starting at the Hudson River and the big sky above or a tarot card pull to inspire journaling), and family or friend time (even if that’s only possible by Zoom right now) -- and the times that I do each thing will vary day to day depending on what I need.

For work time, that often looks like 1:1 coaching calls with clients, or group coaching sessions, which I schedule Tuesdays through Thursdays. Other times that work means building my potential client base through virtual networking, content writing and social media posts, reading inspirational books, or ideating and creating new coaching program ideas. [Hint: My Career Breakout Masterclass group coaching program starts June 3rd!]I love every minute of it all (especially the time I’m working with my clients)!

What is your no-fail go-to when you need inspiration or to get out of a creative rut? Honestly, any kind of exercise or movement helps me clear my head.

But when I really need inspiration, without fail, stepping away from the computer and getting outside in nature and fresh air gives me incredible clarity. It seems to magically allow ideas and creative thoughts to flow into my brain. You may occasionally find me pausing my walk on the Aqueduct Trail to quickly jot down some notes on my phone so I don’t forget them!

PS- this is one of the reasons I love to travel (and why I created my sister business, Go Love NY), especially on active hiking vacations around the world. I’m dreaming about the next time I’ll be able to do that...
